The Adelaide Gun Shop (AGS) was opened in 1974. In the four plus decades that have followed our staff have worked passionately to look after our customers & shooting community across a wide variety of shooting sports from competition through to recreational hunting. We pride ourselves in having one of the widest and most thorough product ranges in South Australia.

We are seeking a dynamic, energetic retail assistant to join our growing team. In this position, you will play a key role in providing outstanding customer service experiences on a daily basis. You must be organized, detail-oriented, and knowledgeable of our products with an engaging, upbeat personality.

Role Responsibilities:

Greet customers and make them feel welcome
Maintain a clean, organized, and comfortable workplace
Be attentive to customer’s needs, providing answers to any questions
Make recommendations
Assist customers with all relevant legal requirements and applications
Restock items that are running low and maintain a vibrant shopfront.
Assist with inventory control and placement of new products
Assist with social media demands and contribute to marketing strategies
Handle customer complaints and concerns calmly; find a reasonable solution (calling on a supervisor only when necessary)
Keep a watchful eye for theft or mishandling of merchandise, act according to company policy.
Process payment and applicable paperwork using cash register, credit card machines, and/or POS (point of sale) computer system.

Key Selection Criteria:

Previous retail and/or sales experience preferred but not essential
Computer literate and comfortable using POS systems
Interest in social media and web-based marketing
Ability to generate marketing/sale material a major plus
Thrives working in a fast-paced environment as part of a team
Must be a fast learner, punctual and able to think quickly on one's feet
Excellent customer service and strong interpersonal skills


Current South Australian Firearms License mandatory
