We are seeking a detail-oriented Compliance Supervisor to join our team at our Brookvale location in Sydney NSW. The successful candidate should have a minimum of 3+ years of experience in the firearms industry, and or a strong background in legal and/or compliance roles.
The Compliance Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring that our organization remains compliant with all relevant permits, licenses, and regulations. This role also involves maintaining our ISO 9001 system, overseeing internal audits, and managing the movement of restricted goods in accordance with legal requirements.
Role Responsibilities:- Ensure all necessary permits and licenses are up to date and in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Conduct regular internal audits to ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards. Identify areas of improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Oversee the secure and legal movement of firearms, munitions and other restricted items within the organization, ensuring all documentation and procedures are properly managed.
- Maintain and continuously improve the ISO 9001 system, ensuring that all processes and documentation meet the required standards.
- Stay updated on relevant legal and regulatory changes, advising the organization on necessary adjustments to policies and practices.
- Provide training to staff on compliance-related matters, ensuring all employees are aware of and adhere to relevant policies and procedures.
- Prepare and present compliance reports to senior management, highlighting any risks, non-compliance issues, and recommended actions.
- Prepare and manage all necessary export documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin.
- Engage with regulatory authorities from time to time to advocate for industry interests, contribute to policy development, and ensure compliance with evolving regulations.
- Experience in a legal or compliance-related role, ideally within a similar industry.
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements, including permits, licenses, and ISO 9001 standards.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of work.
- A relevant degree or certification in law, compliance, or a related field is advantageous.
- Firearms licence would be highly adventurous.
- Applicants must either hold or have the ability to obtain a firearms permit.
