The Barn, located in Oakey QLD, is a successful retail and wholesale business distributing oils, batteries, firearms, ammunition, and accessories to customers across Australia. We are a strong team who work well together, and we are looking for someone with the same approach to teamwork and a keen interest in learning new skills.

Role Responsibilities:

Reporting to and assisting the store manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Packing, processing, and dispatching daily mail and parcels
  • Processing online web orders and liaising with customers regarding their orders
  • Answering and directing phone calls professionally
  • Processing over-the-phone sales
  • Maintaining and updating the business website as required
  • Performing general retail duties, such as processing sales and providing customer service
  • Maintaining and ordering stock and stationery
  • Responding to email inquiries
  • Managing company social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, and email mail-outs)
  • Saturday morning work is required on a rotating roster, usually every third Saturday.

Key Selection Criteria:

Requirements for the Successful Applicant:

  • Hold a valid QLD Driver’s Licence and have access to a reliable vehicle for transport to and from work
  • Must either hold a QLD Firearms Licence or be able to obtain one (a clean criminal history is essential)
  • Strong computer skills – please specify which software you have experience with and how you’ve used it
  • High attention to detail – ability to prioritise work and adjust priorities while maintaining accuracy
  • Strong time management and communication skills
  • Be a quick learner who is comfortable asking questions to ensure accuracy
  • Previous experience in administration, customer service, and/or retail is advantageous
Qualifications:
  • Hold a valid QLD Driver’s Licence
  • Must either hold a QLD Firearms Licence or be able to obtain one (a clean criminal history is essential)
  • Forklift licence beneficial but not necessary
