Spika is a leading and respected Australian owned company within the hunting and outdoor industry with wholesale business operations in both Australia and New Zealand. Spika specialise in supplying retailers and enthusiasts alike, with a range of quality hunting and outdoor products.

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Management Accountant to join our dedicated team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing all aspects of financial and transactional activities across both AU and NZ companies, while leading the implementation and management of the accounting functions of our new ERP system.
The successful candidate will be an essential part of our team, collaborating with cross-functional departments to ensure accurate financial reporting, budgeting, and assisting with strategic decision-making. The role will require working closely with the accounts support team to ensure efficient and effective financial operations.

Role Responsibilities:
  • Manage and maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and reconciliations.
  • Manage and execute payroll processing and related compliance tasks.
  • Prepare monthly financial management account reports.
  • Manage tax compliance and interim and annual financial accounts preparation with the assistance of our external advisors.
  • Cash flow management including foreign exchange deal management.
  • Assist in budgeting forecasting and reporting analysis of performance.
  • Collaborate with management team to define workflows transition of accounting function and ensure a seamless transition to the new ERP system.
Key Selection Criteria:
  • Experience working with forex and in a wholesale import/export environment is advantageous.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and compliance regulations.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience (4 years+) as a Management Accountant.
  • CA/CPA qualified.
  • Advanced understanding of accounting and ERP software; Odoo experience is highly desirable.
