About Us:

The NSW Rifle Association is the peak body for rifle clubs in NSW. The NSW Rifle Association is a State Sporting Organisation, established over 160 years ago, located in Sydney’s south-eastern suburbs on the ANZAC Rifle Range.

The NSW Rifle Association store is located on the historic Anzac Rifle Range and also has an active online store that specialises in target rifle, F-Class, and Sporter Hunter equipment, ammunition, accessories, and reloading equipment and components.

This is a part-time store manager role from Wednesday to Saturday, some Sundays, and as required during special events.  The position is based on the Anzac Rifle Range.  Good opportunity for someone wanting to expand their experience in the retail/shooting industry.

Role Responsibilities:

The store manager is responsible for:

  • day-to-day sales
  • accurate cash handing
  • accurately receiving stock
  • keeping an accurate inventory
  • leading the stocktake
  • providing a knowledgeable and excellent level of customer service
  • accurately packing and sending orders
  • receiving deliveries
  • assisting with marketing programs
  • assisting with growth strategies
  • liaising with suppliers
  • ensuring the store is maintained to the highest levels of cleanliness and presentation
  • Preparing sales reports
  • Preparing reordering lists
  • Ongoing profitability of the store
Key Selection Criteria:

About you

While experience in firearms retail is not essential it is highly desirable.

  • Happy and enthusiastic
  • Some experience of shooting and reloading
  • Must hold an NSW Firearms Licence or be able to obtain one
  • 5 + Experience in retail
  • Must be able to obtain security and police clearances prior to starting the role
  • Have customer service experience
  • Possess high attention to detail
  • Experience with Shopify and or Tower desireable
  • Have medium to high-level computer skills including MS Office
  • Hardworking and willing to get things done
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Be a good communicator and have the ability to engage with all personalities
  • Possess strong organisational skills
  • Clean and tidy
  • Possess knowledge of workplace health and safety
  • Experience using MS Office Word/Excel
  • Knowledge of firearms licencing and Safework compliance as it relates to the Firearms industry is highly desireable
  • Hold a valid Drivers licence
  • A willingness to grow into the role to eventually manage the store
  • Able to physically receive stock
  • Must be able to pass police and security clearances
